I'm thinking the side exhaust behind the doors are still functional and you're seeing the blow off for the turbo but could be wrong

That's not the exhaust tip though, it's for the wastegate.

Wastegate. The tube that blows out excess exhaust to not overspeed the turbo is bigger than your exhaust! The 930 did divorced wastegates in the most beautiful way...

Haha yup you're right, that's branching off the up pipe, you can even see the little bulge of blowoff valve. actual exhaust goes to the side pipe, and is acceptably spacious.
I really should look more carefully before commenting.

Yup now that you mention it's pretty damn obvious my "exhaust" is branching off the up-pipe, and you can even see the little bulge of blow off valve. Lesson learned, click the expand button and actually look at the picture before making snide remarks haha.
